COMMUNITY NOTIFICATION: Fire Ants detected at Northshore Brisbane

Contractors at Northshore Brisbane recently detected fire ants onsite. A report was made to Biosecurity Queensland and they will treat the affected areas.

The areas highlighted in the map below are the locations where fire ants have been sighted. This is preliminary advice as the impacted area could be more extensive.

We ask you to:

  • stay on concrete footpaths and watch your step
  • keep off the grass
  • if you see an ant mound, avoid it do not disturb mounds
  • report fire ants if seen at a location not highlighting on the map.
